Contrary to popular medical belief, the onset of a PID is not limited to children. The majority of people start to become unwell with a PID from late teens until early thirties. However, people have developed symptoms of their PID in their eighties. There are approximately three times more adults living with a PID than there are children. The reality is that PID can develop at any age and many in our Community Membership will tell you they were well into adulthood before first showing symptoms for regular and repeat infections.
