Delay in Diagnosis

The unfortunate thing about having a PID is that in many cases it can take a doctor so long to diagnose (often up to seven years), that you might have suffered subsequent damage to your lungs, sinus or gut as a result of that delay. The irreversible damage caused by repeated infections makes managing a PID more complicated. That is why UKPIPS is so dedicated and committed to making doctors far more aware of the condition and how it can impact on people whose diagnosis is already delayed.
