On 4th February 2013, UKPIPS in conjunction with Birmingham Sandwell hospital, was delighted to host a Primary Immune Deficiency Evening for the benefit of GPs, hospital doctors and nursing staff.
We were delighted to have with us, Amos Etzioni MD who is a Professor of Paediatrics and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Technion in Haifa, Israel and is the director of the Children’s hospital at the Rambam Health Campus in Haifa. He is currently the President of the Israeli Immunology Society as well as the President of the European Society for immunodeficiency (ESID). What made this evening particularly memorable is that Professor Etzioni asked UKPIPS if he could visit us – and not the other way around.
Apart from two other speakers at the event,UKPIPS was delighted to also welcome Mr. John Dempster of Barts Health NHS Trust in London who gave a most interesting presentation on his own role as a senior Clinical Nurse Specialist.
